  My website domain is with Godaddy along with other accounts.
  Do I have to move it to wordpress in order to build a new site?
  I want to use Divi to make it easier to build. Can I build a site and leave the old one up and operating until I am done with the new site?

  Hi there,

  That is not an issue – what you could do is create a site with a free WordPress.com blog address. You are assigned a .wordpress.com or a .home.blog subdomain whenever you create a site with WordPress.com, so you can just use that as the domain as you build the site and determine whether or not this is the platform you want to use. Once you are developing the site, you can make the decision to transfer the domain over:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/incoming-domain-transfer/

  map and existing domain:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/map-existing-domain/

  Or even creating a new one:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/register-domain/
