  Hi there,
  I am a bit lost and confused. Can I link my domain to my wordpress account or do I need to pay wordpress for this? I have a domain and want to know if I can map it or what not without having to pay wordpress? Thanks.

  Hello,
  Yes, you can map your domain to your WordPress website, but you would need to have a paid plan. You can read more here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/ (the domain mapping subscription is already included in your paid plan)

  You also have the option to transfer your domain, so you will be able to manage it through WordPress.com; with domain mapping instead, you have to manage it through your registrar.

  Thank you for your assistance. I am still very new to all of this. If I were to get a paid personal plan, would that come with a domain? As in, if I paid for a personal plan, would I be able to create my own domain? I don’t have one at the moment.

  @onthesidemusic Yes, sure, you can create your own domain with personal, and the price of the domain is included in the subscription price (for the first year only).
  With a personal plan, you also have access to email and chat support.
