I wan to start a blog. I just want to use the free wordpress hosting. I want it to be a .wordpress.com site. I do not want to register and pay for a domain. I cannot seem to move beyond this step without choosing a domain. I do not want to do this. How can I just launch a blog on wordpress itself. I do not want or need a custom domain?

Have you already created a free site with your chosen address (choosing “Business” at step 1 if you want a .wordpress.com subdomain)? It should only take a few more clicks. Make sure that after clicking the “Launch site” button that you leave blank the field at the top that says “Enter a name or keyword”. Instead just click on “skip purchase” at the bottom right next to your new free address and then click on continue with free at the top on the next page.
