  Hello. I am new to WordPress. I bought a domain from MailChimp this morning. Can I just change the A records etc. without transferring my domain to WordPress? Thank you!

  Hi, are you trying to map it? If so, first, choose a plan here:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Then choose to map the domain here: https://wordpress.com/domains

  Then we recommend updating the name servers to use ours, since your site’s A records can change.
