  Can I create a site without transferring my domain. I’d like to leave my existing site up while I build. Unfortunately, the setup is prompting me to pick a domain or transfer mine as part of setup.

  Hi there!

  There is no need to transfer your domain at this point, you can choose a free subdomain – like one ending with .wordpress.com.

  You’ll be able to transfer or map your existing domain later on :)
