I had my own domain name which I paid for and was using with my free plan. I upgraded to a premium plan which came with a different domain but I wanted to continue using the one I was using. I stopped them premium plan because I felt I needed to understand how to get around it first before paying for it. After that it went back to my WordPress.com name instead of going back to the same .com domain which I have paid for till the end of the year. It not said I can’t use it without upgrading my plan but I was using it before. Now I paid again thinking it would work and it didn’t so I cancelled that purchase and it cancelled the one I just did and the one for the previous year which it shouldn’t have because I won’t get refunded. Now my domain is gone and I’ve lost money and I’m back to the WordPress.com name which is making me very annoyed as I paid to keep the wordpress out previously. I feel this is a ploy to force me to get the premium plan again

What is the domain you’d like to restore? Is this about touchedbytosin.com?
We can help you get it back, however, please note that without a paid plan, you won’t be able to set that domain as your primary address.If you have a look at your billing history, you’ll notice that this domain was renewed on 2019-12-11 for one year (until January 2021). You have then purchased a plan and registered another domain, touchedbytosin.org. You have canceled that and renewed the touchedbytosin.com for one more year and ultimately canceled that as well.

Hi I would like touchedbytosin.com back and I was using it without a paid plan before o bought the premium plan so why can I not do that again. That means the domain will just be sitting there. I’ve been using it for over a year without an attached plan. So what’s changed?

Hi @tosin01, several years ago we stopped offering primary domain mapping without a plan. This is to help cover our costs and provide better support to paid users. Currently you can have a domain but it forwards to your WordPress.com address if you don’t have a plan.
How would you like to proceed a this point?

I would like touchedbytosin.com reinstated as I’ve paid till the end of the year. I’ve also had it as my domain.

OK, you had the domain, you bought a plan and another domain, then you cancelled everything, and now you want the original name back.
I was able to restore the domain so it’s no longer parked, and it is officially under your account again.
The thing that you were grandfathered into several years ago that allowed the domain to be primary, no longer works the same though, because you cancelled that. If you re-add a plan, even a Personal plan, you’ll be able to make the domain primary again.
