  I have purchased a domain on godaddy.com and I don’t know if I should transfer or map the domain on WordPress.

  Have you owned the domain for more than 60 days? If not then mapping it to a WordPress.com site (with a paid plan) is your only option if you wish to build a site here rather than at Godaddy.
