  I’m trying to add my own domain (from go daddy) into my wordpress free account. But it doesn’t let me. It keeps sending me to the page to upgrade my plan as if I were buying another domain through wordpress. I did try to transfer from go daddy to wordpress and see if that would work but since I have just bought the domain I need to wait more days to make the transfer. I want to start using my own domain asap.

  You can map your domain to a WordPress.com site. You’ll need to paid plan to make that domain the primary one that people see when they visit your site.
