domain

Hi there, I bought a new domain on GoDadday and wanted to use it for this WordPress account. I tried to change my domain name on WordPress, in Settings, under General and now I can’t log onto my site, as it wants me to buy the domain I set it as(the new domain I have already bought). How do I fix this? and can I transfer this WordPress account to my new domain?

You need to have owned a domain for at least 60 days to transfer it to a site here (or anywhere else for that matter). A paid plan is also required. You can map a domain at any time though (again a paid plan is required).

Hi there,
With what site do you want to use the domain? The setting you refer to doesn’t exist for WordPress.com sites, only for sites using the open source WordPress.org software at other hosting providers, so the fact that you were able to change that setting indicates that the site you’re speaking of is not hosted with us.
Changing the domain on a stand-alone WordPress site like yours has to follow a specific process. You can find the documentation for that process here, though many hosting providers have their own process for this via their hosting control panel.

Depending on your setup, you might be able to fix this yourself using those instructions. If not, please contact your hosting provider directly for help.

Actually it looks as though I signed up for a new paid WordPress account with the same email as my other paid WordPress account and has now deleted my first account. Is there any way to fix this?

Could you let us know what the first account was? Right now I see only this account, but if we have more details we can try to look it up.
