    Hello! Now, I want to start to create a new website using WordPress, I already have a domain and a website. My question is the next, how can I start to customize and work for my new WordPress website (having the same domain as it was on the previous platform), without losing my current website, I still need it to be active, but I want to transfer it to WordPress without affecting it while I am working to the new one. Therefore, after my new WordPress website is created and customized, I would delete my ex-website and keep the new one using the same domain. I do not know if I am clear enough, I hope you could understand what I have tried to explain.
    A complementary question would be, can I work on a WordPress website without ascribing it to a certain domain? If not, I saw that I can own a domain for free (12 months), but can I change that new domain with my previous one?

    Hi there,

    Yes you can set up here in private by using the free “WordPress.com” URL we provide to all sites. This way you can get all set up and ready, but leave your current site untouched.

    When you are ready to “launch” you can then disconnect the domain from your current site, and instead connect it to your new WordPress.com site to replace it.
