  Hi. Can I use the domain that I purchased on Wix and transfer it to WordPress? I’m up for renewal soon at wix but have heard awesome things about WordPress. So, I’m looking to switch but don’t want to lose any followers from my existing domain/site?

  Hi, the answer to those questions is mostly: yes. But I’d like to clarify that we’re talking about the same thing.

  Are you hoping to use ac custom domain (the one you have registered elsewhere) with a WordPress.com site? If so, you will need the Domain Mapping upgrade to do that. Domain Mapping is included in all WordPress.com paid plans:

  Once you have purchased a plan, here is a support document that will explain how to set up Domain Mapping with your domain:

  You can also choose to transfer registration of your domain (instead of mapping) to WordPress.com using these instructions:

  https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/

  As with domain mapping, using the domain with your WordPress.com site will
  require a paid plan.
