Domain

I owned the domain helenmariegrant.com on an old WordPress account. I deleted the account and set up this new WordPress account. I want to use the domain but WordPress is saying it isn’t available. How do I retrieve it?

Hello. As I can see here, that domain is registered, and is not hosted at WordPress.com. So it is unavailable if you’re trying to add it as a new domain. If the ownership belongs to you, you can transfer or map it to use in your WordPress.com account.
Since it’s not hosted at WordPress.com, we can’t do anything from here. -
Hello, thank you for your response. The domain was hosted by WordPress.com. I deleted my WordPress account while it was still an active domain. Is there a way I can retrieve it as it is not hosted elsewhere?

Every domain needs to be renewed every year. If you don’t renew it it will fall to the Grace Period, which is about 2 weeks. Then in the Redemption Period, this length may vary. After, it’s usually returned to the pool and can be registered again by anyone on a first-come, first served basis.
If that happened, you’re no longer the owner of the domain.

Hi @hgindex,
@kleyhalisson is right. When the domain expired and got released someone else managed to register it before you had the chance. Please note that once a domain is released it’s out of our control and anyone can register it.
