  Hi! I recently purchased a domain but ended up cancelling it. I received my money back but it says that the domain is only available until a year or two. The thing is I need it on another platform, but can’t use it since it says that it belongs on WordPress. Please is there a way to get it back?

  This is what it says: “this domain is already mapped to a wordpress.com site”

  Looking at the account I can see that anedraea.com was bought and cancelled on February 26th. It takes 5 days for a domain to be released. At that time you can register it again, as new, at a different provider. Write back if you need any further help.

  There is a risk that somebody else registers the domain ahead of you. It’s an unfortunate reality that folks deal with on time to time. My suggestion is that we restore the domain in our system (you’ll need to pay $19 for the registration) and then you can point that domain to the new hosting provider through DNS changes. They’ll provide you the instructions on what details to us, and we can help you from our end here. This is the only way to preserve ownership of the domain and guarantee that you don’t lose it.
