    Hello,

I own the domain https://emmaheiken.com (registered through GoDaddy). I previously connected the domain to WordPress, but have since moved to a different provider. Back in March, I properly detached the domain through your UI, but WordPress is still attached to my domain. I’ve attached the error message being served:

Something unexpected happened while accessing this website. It looks like it doesn’t have an active domain connection upgrade to link the requested domain name to the WordPress.com site.

If this is your domain name and it has recently stopped working, it’s possible that your plan or domain may have expired. Please log in to your WordPress.com account and review the status of your plan and domain.

Please release the domain attachment so that I may resume serving my content properly. Thank you for your time and help.

P.S It is extremely frustrating that I was not able to find a way to submit a help ticket privately. Very unprofessional for a company of your alleged caliber, and does not inspire one to recommend WordPress.

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Hello, I’d be happy to help with that!

I checked over your domain https://emmaheiken.com, and while the WordPress site was deleted and the domain connection removed, there are still WordPress A records set up at GoDaddy which point the domain to the WordPress servers.

Because the domain is not registered here, you will need to remove the A records from the domain on GoDaddy. They have a guide on managing the DNS records you can reference here: https://www.godaddy.com/help/manage-dns-records-680

The change will take some time to propagate, but once the A records are removed, the domain will no longer be connected with WordPress.com.

I’m sorry to hear you weren’t able to find where to reach out more directly! In the future, you can use the Contact Support options at the top and the bottom of our help page here: https://wordpress.com/help, or you can reach out directly at help@wordpress.com.
