  Question….since I have a web host, but am pointing my server to the wordpress.com, is my site considered a self hosted site or is it under wordpress. Thank you

  Hi there,

  Good question. In this case, because the files that power your site are on our servers here on WordPress.com, it is not a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site. The domain mapping upgrade helps it appear (to visitors) that your site is independent as there it no “.wordpress” in your url, but it is still a WordPress.com site on the inside.

  Well, I know that there is more functions I can utilize with the wordpress.org, but I like the eventbrite template which is not available on the org. templates. I’m having a little problem converting everything the way I want it. I guess I just need to buckle down and figure it out as before. thanks for your response!
