Domain Access

I registered irlamvale.com with WordPress via transfer, and have since found I am unable to access it from anywhere. I cannot find it in my domains, and I cannot see how to transfer it away, or unlock it, or manage it in any way?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your domain succesfully got transfererd to wordpress.com, https://www.whois.com/whois/irlamvale.com but it redirects to a non-excisting site irlamvale.wordpress.com. Let’s just wait for a Staff member to come to the rescue.

  • Hi there,

I see you transferred that domain to us on 7 June 2021, but a few days later, on 19 June, you disputed the payment with your bank. When you do that, all upgrades are removed from your account, and your site is locked pending payment of a chargeback fee.

I see you paid that chargeback fee earlier today, but your original payment for the domain was refunded by your bank when you won the dispute, so you’ve never paid us for the domain transfer and renewal that took place last year.

I’m sending you a link via email that you can use to pay for the domain transfer again. Let us know here once you’ve completed that payment, and we can restore the domain to your account.

Let me know if you have any questions about this.

So just to clarify, if the payment was refunded, then you shouldn’t have the domain and it shouldn’t have been renewed? So you shouldn’t have my domain? But it’s registered with you despite there being no successful transaction.

I think you were lucky to receive a refund. By that point WordPress.com owned (were stuck with) the domain you had transferred here until it expired in June 2022.

  • Hi @tempestatembusiness, you had disputed the charge after the domain was transferred here. There isn’t really an automated process for transferring a domain back, so it remained here.

Let us know if you have more questions.
