Domain Administration option now showed

    Hi,

I’m trying to transfer my domain registered with wordpress.com to another registrant. I’ve followed this guide [1], but I can’t find the option “Domain Administration” in “Store -> Domains” in the Dashboard.

If I look into the “Store -> My Upgrades”, I can see that the domain seems to be registered by WordPress.com.

A whois against my domain shows:

    Registrar URL: http://www.wildwestdomains.com
    Reseller: WordPress.com
    Name Server: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    Name Server: NS2.WORDPRESS.COM

This is weird and I’m not sure if the option is not displayed because WordPress isn’t really the place where the domain was acquired.

WordPress.com partners with wildwest domains. Has 60 expired since you purchased the domain name? I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

You need to be logged in as the exact account that owns an upgrade to transfer it – is there another account you might have used to register the domain name in 2008?

    Hi,

To transfer your domain, log into your blog and go to the Store -> Domains page. Scroll to the bottom of this page and you’ll see a dropdown menu.

From the dropdown menu, select the “Transfer domain to a different registrar” option. Select that, and some new text will pop up with new instructions.

Read the instructions and click the button that appeared at the bottom of the text. This will start you on the process of transferring the domain.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Tim
