domain and blog issues.

    I routed my domain to a volusion site, but bought the domain blog.lifeloveoils.com in order to continue my worpress format as a blog. I have been trying to get my blog to work since I got my account back in July, I believe, and it just doesn’t come up. I tried clearing my cookies and cache but that didn’t do anything. How do I continue to have my main domain, lifeloveoils.com, while also maintaining my blog, blog.lifeloveoils.com, here on wordpress? I looked through a lot of the self help support, but I just don’t understand. Please help!

    Hi there,

    It looks like everything is set up correctly on our end, so you’re on the right track! What you’ll need to do is go to Volusion and create a CNAME record which points “blog.lifeloveoils.com” back towards lifeloveoils.wordpress.com.

    I’m not familiar with Volusion or their interface, so I can’t give you the steps which are required to create that CNAME record, but their help staff should be able to assist you with creating that DNS record.

    Again, the CNAME record you need looks like this:

    blog.liveloveoils.com Points to: lifeloveoils.wordpress.com

    There should not be any http:// . Just the records as I provided above in most cases.
