domain and hosting

    if I buy a domain through wordpress.com does that include hosting and am I able to create the site using the wordpress.com serverside software?

    Hi there,

    Hosting on WordPress.com is completely free, and comes with a free *.wordpress.com subdomain, like your site, http://dogssolutions.wordpress.com/

    What the plans do is add extra features, like the ability to use your own domain, extra storage, etc.

    None of the plans give you serverside access or the ability to edit the source files in any way, as WordPress.com is a shared hosting platform so one user changing source code on their site will affect all sites on WordPress.com.

    If you want the ability to edit source code and access your database directly, you’ll need to get hosting somewhere else and install the self-hosted version of WordPress, called WordPress.org, instead. You can find some more information on that here:
