domain and hosting

  Hi there. So i chose a word press.com free package which is 4 students. And i got my own domain name from name.com. ive 2 questions now:

  – if i fw my domain url as masked to my wordpress. Com site, will people be rerouted to the .com automatically or do i need to pay another 13 dollars for mapping.

  – do i need to pay a separate cost for hosting also now or if my wordpress package is free , i dont require that?

  Hi there,

  I see you have purchased a domain from third-party. And you wish to manage your site with WordPress.com.

  You can map your existing domain with WordPress.com for which you’ll have to purchase a plan. So you’ll have to pay for domain mapping apart from hosting cost. This payment is to WordPress.com and you pay for hosting to third-party.

  A better option would be you install Jetpack plugin on your self hosted site. With Jetpack you can manage your site with WordPress.com account. There is no additional amount you need to pay here.

  Hi there,

  I don’t see any WordPress.com site in your account, and I also don’t know what you mean about “4 students”. WordPress.com sites don’t have any user limit based on plan.

  What exactly are you trying to do, and what site are you speaking of?
