I am trying to retrieve my site, david-cline.com, and when I enter the url now it just tells me that it does not exist. Is there a way to reclaim the site and content without rebuilding from scratch? I just get this response when I enter m url: The address david-cline.wordpress.com cannot be registered. Site names can only contain lowercase letters (a-z) and numbers.

  • Hi there,

When you bought the domain mapping upgrade for david-cline.com yesterday, that is the first time ever that that domain has been connected to WordPress.com.

That domain is both registered and hosted with GoDaddy.com, so if you had a WordPress site at that domain, you were using the self-hosted version of WordPress, called WordPress.org. We have no access to or control over that site.

Please contact GoDaddy support for help with this, as they are hosting your site, not us.

If you bought the Personal Plan here in an attempt to get your site back online, you can cancel and refund that from the Purchases page, as the upgrade plans here with us have nothing to do with your site at GoDaddy.
