Domain and plans

  Suppose if I had a WordPress site with url example.Wordpress.com and upgrade it to premium plan with the url now example.com. If anytime my plan expires and I forget to renew it, does my site gets downgraded to example.Wordpress.com or my example.com site stays locked away? Please educate me.

  If the plan expires, the domain wouldn’t be deleted ahead of an expiry date – instead the domain would remain, but it would not be possible to set it as a custom domain.

  This means the site URL would change from example.com to example.WordPress.com.
