domain and post problems

Help! This may sound too complicated, but perhaps someone understands it. /I created a new domain; then I created a post–the post appeared with the entire domain name and the date like this: wordpress/name/date. I then created several pages which I linked to the post. I didn’t really want those dates, but I got them and they are now part of my permlink. Here’s the problem. All of the pages worked well; the post links right to them. Yet when I click HOME on the linked pages, they return me to the original domain (rather than the new Post). The problem is complicated further by the fact that now I can’t change the text on the original domain because I’m stuck with the permalink. Does this make any sense? I’d love to get back to my original post, edit, and not worry about the post with the date.
    Thanks,

    Where is the blog please?

Permalinks can always be changed when a post/page is edited – it’s just about the writing area.

Pages should never have permalinks involving the date.

Where your blog is will help.
