Domain and Website Purchases

I bought a domain from here yesterday (melissaashleyhernandez.com), and after doing research today, I found that I wanted the website from here as well. I went to purchase the website and saw that I was being given $20 off instead of the $26 that I had paid. So in order to receive the proper bundling price, I decided to return my domain name and purchase the offered bundle with the same domain name, but immediately after the refund my domain name was not available. I assume it is because of processing? I was wondering how long it would take before I am able to purchase the bundle with my original domain? Or what my possible options are?

When you say, “return”, do you mean that you deleted/canceled the domain? If the domain has been cancelled, it can cause your site to stop woking (which I can see has happened when I go to the URL melissaashleyhernandez.com)

I did cancel the domain, but I never started a site. I have a website on Wix, but I couldn’t connect the WordPress-purchased domain without purchasing Wix services. It was then that I realized it would be far more cost effective to make a site on WordPress. In trying to receive the bundle, I guess I made the domain unavailable for a bit of time? hehehe -_-

Hi @calamityjane15, when you cancel your domain there should be a warning about its future availability. Cancelled domains are never available for re-purchase right away, but we may be able to restore it for you at this point. Can you go ahead and buy the plan you’d like, then update this thread? We’ll use your plan’s domain credit to try to get it back. I’ll update you with the results.

@calamityjane15 go to https://wordpress.com/plans and you can get it there. Don’t specify a custom domain yet.

@supernovia It won’t allow me to not choose a domain name before purchasing. Is there a support number I can call?

There is not a number. I see the problem though – you got rid of your site :( So you will need to pick a free domain (with .wordpress.com in it) so you’ll have a site to add a plan to. Just don’t buy the custom domain yet.
