Domain and website transfer from other hosting service

    Hello,
    I have a domain and a web site on hostmonster, how can I transfer them over to wordpress without building everything from scratch here? (I already downloaded/exported and backup my files via cpanel/phpmyadmin throu hostmonster) But not sure where I can use these files. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance

    Hi there,

    You can import content from another site here, but you can’t transfer the entire site.

    First, go to the WP-Admin dashboard ->Tools ->Export and get a .xml export file of your content.

    Then go to My Site ->Settings ->Import here on WordPress.com to import the content.

    The template on your Hostmonster site cannot be imported here, so you’ll need to select a different theme from My Site ->Themes.

    Your domain you can connect here via the Domain Mapping upgrade included in all our upgrade plans, but we’re not able to accept incoming domain transfers. You can find more detailed information here:
