Domain Authentication

  On normal Whois searches the registar shows up as ‘Wild West Domains’ but they are saying that they are a reseller through WordPress and that wordpress has my information and they (Wild West) have no access to it. I am trying to transfer my domain to squarespace and need the authentication code to complete the transfer. I deleted my site already but just need the domain to be redirected

  Hi there,

  A few items to note:
  1) Once you have transferred a domain away, it will not be possible to transfer it back to WordPress.com.

  2) It is only possible to transfer a domain 60 days after the registration date. This 60 day lock is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and cannot be waived.

  Hi there,

  It looks like your domain actually expired in August last year already. The subscriptions were removed from your account, but the domain was never cancelled so it still exists, but you’ll need to create a new site in your account before I can reactivate the domain for you.

  Please go to this link to create a new free WordPress.com site:

  https://wordpress.com/start/site/

  Let me know once you’ve done that, and I can restore the domain for you so you can transfer it.

  Hey kokkieh, you just replied to my thread and I appreciate your help!
  I just made a new site ” (email visible only to moderators and staff) ” what are the next steps for restoring the domain I had before which was “k-bl.com”

  Right. The domain is restored to your account. You can transfer it out from this page:

  https://wordpress.com/domains/manage/k-bl.com/transfer/out/kblcom.wordpress.com

  Click the Update Settings button on that page to unlock your domain and receive the transfer code. Give that code to Squarespace, and they’ll initiate the transfer on their end. The transfer usually takes about a week to complete after you give them the code.
