Domain Authority dropped with Moz change
-
Moz announced a change in the way DA is scored 5 March (to catch spammy websites and websites that don’t rank for keywords). On this day, my DA dropped from 25 to 16! I don’t do any spammy activity and do keyword research for all posts and products. Does anyone have advice on how to figure out what happened and how to work towards fixing this? The only factors I can think are:
– I comment on industry blogs, where the website field is nofollow
– I changed my wordpress/woocommerce theme 3 weeks before the change and the new theme is quite slow (particularly on mobile). I hid a load of demo pages from the new theme a few weeks after it went live, without creating redirects.
But I’m not super techy, so I may be barking up the wrong tree here in figuring out why my DA halved in one day!
Thanks fo any thoughts! The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
Your domain is not registered with us, and your site is not hosted on our servers, so we are not able to help with this.
Please contact Moz support directly to get clarity on how this works on their end, or what could be causing this. If it’s an issue with the WordPress software, or a particular theme or plugin, please ask in the self-hosted WordPress.org forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/, or the subforum for the particular theme or plugin causing the problem.
