Domain Auto-Renewal

  Hello,

  I never received notification that my domain was up for renewal or that it would not be renewed and as a result it expired 18 days ago. I have another blog with wordpress.com and it auto-renews every year so I am shocked that I would be charged $80 to reclaim my domain. Please help!

  Hi there,

  We tried sending you email notifications (to the email address listed in your account settings) and displayed dashboard notifications about your expiring domain. I’m very sorry if those notifications didn’t reach you.

  Your domain didn’t have auto renew enabled because the credit card you used to purchase the domain expired last year. Upgrades need to have a current credit card on file in order to enable auto renew. If you ever want to check that, you can visit Store > My Upgrades in your dashboard to see if Auto Renew is enabled on your upgrades and add a valid credit card from there. You can also go to that page to renew your domain now, in order to keep ownership of it.

  I never received any emails from WordPress regarding the expiring domain. I receive emails when people comment and like my posts so I’m not sure why WordPress would have difficulty emailing me to renew the domain for my blog. I don’t have a single email from WordPress about it, and nothing went to my spam folder.

  Hi there,

  Did you receive the email I sent you about your domain? That email includes some additional details about your domain renewal. Please let me know if you didn’t get my email (it’s from an email address ending in WordPress.com).
