Domain booked. WordPress.com to WordPress.org Transfer

  Hello,

  I’m new to WordPress and recently have booked a .com-domain in WordPress.com but i then realised that I made a mistake.

  I wanted to use WordPress.org as software on a different hoster.

  Can i switch the domain to the new hoster??
  How can i do that?´

  The best way to do that would be the following:

  – For the first 60 days after registration, you won’t be able to transfer the domain. You can still use it elsewhere though by changing the name servers to point to your new host as described here:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  – After 60 days past the registration date (end of July), you can transfer the domain to another registrar as explained here:

  Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar

  This way, you can continue using the domain throughout the entire process rather than canceling the domain and re-registering which can leave it unavailable for several weeks or more.

  Thank you for your quick answer.

  So it is possible to use Bluehost.com as new name server to be pointed from WordPress.com?
  Cause i now registered there to open up a webhost for my wordpress page..

  Yep! You’ll just need to change the name servers to point to Bluehost:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  Bluehost name servers should be the following:

  NS1.BLUEHOST.COM
  NS2.BLUEHOST.COM
