Domain Buying with debit card

  WordPress does not appear to like my british barclays card visa. It’s direct debit, I’ve used it everywhere from amazon to e-Bay today with no trouble, with the same correct details and when attempting to buy my domain upgrade it said

  “The transaction cannot complete successfully. Please check the billing address and expiration date or try another card. Please contact your bank if you have further problems.”

  I really need to get this sorted today/tonight and now may have to wait seven days to transfer money into my paypal account?

  The only payment choices we have are found here in your dashboard. I do not believe they include use of a debit card. Please contact Staff as we Volunteers have no help to offer in cases like this.

  Debit cards are accepted for payment as long as they are carry a credit card logo on the front (in other words, it has to be a Visa, MasterCard, etc.):

  WordPress.COM staff may be able to help as timethief suggested, but in my humble opinion, your best bet is to contact Barclays, as they are the ones who have access to the exact reason why your purchase was declined.

  Same problem here as iron fist, velvet glove … I have a New Zealand Kiwibank Visa debit card, and like above, have used it elsewhere online, including Weebly.com (don’t go there … !

  I don’t think there is a solution. You can pay for things through Paypal with your debit card, though, so just open an account and start using it.

  Just done that as suggested, and successfully paid for a site, although it took a few tries. A bit confusing too but eventually got it. Tip.

  The authorisation code from Paypal arrived as an “authorisation” notice, inside my local bank account, in this case Kiwibank in New Zealand.

  Look for the four digit grouping suggested. Type the four digits into the Paypal site, under the link “verify your details” or something like that!

  all good, and watch out for the American date structure, even on non-US date structure countries , )
