Domain canceled – when will i know, wether i can use it again?

  hey, i canceled my domain, that i’ve got from wordpress, lukasseite.org, but my blog is still running on this URL. So when will I know wether I can use it on another provider? The background is, that I want to use a plugin, and if I understood it correctly, it won’t work with the domain that i’ve got from WP but with one of another provider.

  It seems that you only canceled the ‘Private Whois’ upgrade. Your domain is still active. If you cancel the upgrade, the domain will be send to the domain registar. They decide when to release the domain back into the public pool. Normally this takes several days, but it’s never certain.

  Otherwise you can keep the domain at WordPress.com and point it to another server (hosting service), please follow the instructions here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  Note you will need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

  Thanks! OK, so how do I cancel my domain? I thought I did it already… I think this is the easiest solution.

  Yeah, thank you very much! Does refound mean in this context that I get my money back or that I can use the URL again?

  oke recieved a mail, where it was said that i get the money. Where do you think, schould i go now for my new try? there are serveral german hosts where I would have to pay 5€ per month, what is quite expensive compared with the wordpress-thing! Are there cheaper possibilities where I can use wordpress with plugins?

  As mentioned before, the domain has been sent to the domain registar. They decide when to release the domain back into the public pool. We don’t have control on this.

  one question left for now: if I go now on my site, there is: “Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain. ” but when i go to domain upgrades, the .wordpress.com domain ist selected, but when I use the link it switches straight to the old .org and the error comes again.
  so is this only for a few hours or is there still something to do?
