Hey @myguyjoel95
Usually, the domain will be available after 5 days of cancellation.
If you have not got the refund for the domain till now, you can also contact the staff to restore your domain provided you want to continue using wordpress.com and not other registrars. To transfer a domain to another registrar, it needs to be at least 60-days old.

Hi there,
In this case your domain, myguyjoel.com, should become available again towards the end of the week. If you plan to use it somewhere else, you should be able to register it at your chosen provider at that point.
Usually, the domain will be available after 5 days of cancellation.
I’m afraid that’s not entirely accurate. While it’s true some domains get released 5 days after registration (not cancellation) if you cancel them soon enough after registration, other domains won’t be released until they expire after a full year, even if you cancel it only a few minutes after registration.
The only way to know for sure is for us (i.e. staff) to check the status for the specific domain in question, so please always tag threads like this for staff as we ask in the volunteer guidelines:

you can also contact the staff
The contact form you link to will just bring the OP back to these forums, as only forum support is available to free users. If staff needs to reply to a thread, you can call our attention to it by adding the
modlooktag.
