Domain cancellation

I have cancelled my domain from another account on last wednesday. I was told that the domain will be up for sale again in 5 days. But till now it is still mapped to WordPress. Please let me know when you will release it?

2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?

@topcoder04 will you confirm the domain? I saw codingfreaks.com listed in a tag, but that wasn’t registered here. It does look like it’s for sale though by its current owner.

I requested cancellation last Wednesday and upgraded on last tuesday. I was told it will take 5 days for it to be in sale again.. I don’t want to provide more details in this public forum but I can provide my registered email id so you can check-

Hi there,
You are not contacting us from the account using that email address. Please note that we can only help with upgrades belonging to a particular account if contacted from someone logged in as that account.
The domain that was registered to that account has been cancelled and removed from our system and can be registered at any registrar that offers .com domains. It’s showing as available on GoDaddy and Namecheap.
You won’t be able to register that domain on WordPress.com for another two weeks, as we have a security measure in place where any domain was recently owned by a specific user cannot be added by anyone else for a set period of time after the domain was cancelled. Only the original owner can currently register that domain on WordPress.com.
But in your chat with us last week you also said you wanted to use that domain with a different provider, so that shouldn’t be a problem. You should be able to register that domain at any other domain provider you want to.

I’m able to see the domain available in godaddy but in bluehost it is saying..
the domain XYZ.com is currently owned by another hosting account (XYZ.com)Any idea?

For that you will need to ask Bluehost. I don’t have access to their systems, so I don’t know why they would show the domain as unavailable.
