Domain Cancellation

  Hi–

  I recently purchased, and then cancelled both a WordPress.com plan and domain. I want to sign up with WordPress.org instead. Can you tell me how long it will be before I can register the domain name again?

  Hi there,

  Canceled domains are not released immediately and there is no guarantee they’ll become available to register somewhere else.

  Hi there,

  As mentioned above, cancelled domains are not released immediately, so you should never cancel a domain you still want to use. If you want to use it somewhere else from where you bought it you can map or transfer it, but if you cancel you run the risk of losing it completely.

  In this case your domain, gradschooli.com, should be released within another day or two, at which point you should be able to register it somewhere else.
