domain cancellation
-
hello,
I canceled my domain name (lesastucieuses.fr) yesterday as I wanted to transfer if to a different hosting and wasn’t sure how to transfer it. It is no longer available for purchase but when I visit the website is says that the domain is ‘parked’. Could you let me know how long it might take for it to be available again for purchase? -
Hi @lesastucieuses9,
It can be difficult to get a domain back after you have cancelled. You should only cancel a domain if you are sure you no longer want it and are okay with the potential of someone else registering and using it.
You should never cancel a domain if you wish to transfer it to a different owner, site, or registrar, or if you’re only trying to make changes to your site or account.
If you want to continue to use your domain name, click here for your options on how to move a domain name to another hosting provider.

As for this question, I think a staff member’s intervention is the best. So I am tagging this post for their attention. They will get back to you and let you know what can be done.
Best :)

Hi @lesastucieuses9,
since no refund was issued for the domain, I have restored it back to your account.
Please note that, since this is a new domain, you will only be able to transfer it after 60 days (this is a requirement from ICANN for all new domains) so, in the meantime, you can point it to your new site as explained here:https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/change-name-servers/

@mrsnlchauhan, for issues related to restoring custom domains it’s best if you just added the tagmodlook. Domains are tricky and, as a volunteer you can’t see enough information to be able to advise. Thanks! -
