domain cancelled

    Hi,

    I cancelled my premium membership yesterday which I initially bought with a domain name (smartcoachmarketing.com).

    I was wondering what will happen to the domain name? Will it be available to purchase again as domain name only without wordpress membership? When it can be available again as I searched for it today and I found that it is not available.

    Hi there!

    Domain registrations are a little tricky, so when you cancel them, they don’t become available elsewhere immediately. In fact, depending on when you cancel a domain, you might not be able to get it back at all!

    In this case, because you canceled within the refund period of 96 hours, the domain will be available in about a week. Note that when it becomes available, anyone can register it. That means there’s no guarantee that you can be the first to register it again.

    For this reason, we strongly encourage keeping a domain instead of canceling it if you wish to keep using it. You can point your domain to another host and transfer the registration when it’s 60 days old. All this ensures you don’t lose the domain.
