Domain cannot be transferred
-
Good afternoon,
When I am selecting ‘Use a domain I own’ to transfer a current domain, it says ‘Transfer your domain – your domain can’t be transferred, but you can connect it instead’. Do you know why this would be? The domain is currently hosted by Yell and not yet unlocked etc – will this make a difference?
Best wishes,
Yasmin

ICAN has several rules regarding the transfer of a domain, https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/name-holder-faqs-2017-10-10-en. One of them is the 60-days rule “You cannot transfer a domain name to a different registrar within 60 days of making changes to the registrant name, organization or email address (or the Administrative Contact email address, if there is no registrant email address)”

Hi there!
Can you let us know what domain name you’re trying to transfer in so we can better advise?
Thank you!

Hello,
Thanks so much.
The current domain is: https://www.acecateringservice.co.uk/
I have spoken to Yell and they have advised there is not a lock on the domain but they would need the IPS tag to do the transfer.
I’m unsure why I could not follow the WordPress guide for this – perhaps its because it is currently hosted by Yell?
Best wishes,
Yasmin

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing the domain URL as I now see the issue. We are unable to accept incoming
.co.ukTLDs at this time:However, we can register domains with that TLD. Hopefully, this is something that’ll change in the future, but as of right now we can only register those particular ccTLDs.
Hope this helps.
