Domain Change

Greetings!
I want to use my WordPress domain, MurilloBrederode.com, with my Squarespace website, but whenever I try to use it the latter says it has been taken. I tried to change my domain’s name and still doesn’t work. I read that I have to map it to Squarespace in order to make it work, but I cannot figure out how.
I want to cancel my account at WordPress so I don’t have to use it anymore. I want my domain name to be 100% available for Squarespace.
Could you help me?

Hi there,
The domain, MurilloBrederode.com, expired on 4 September and is currently in redemption with our registrar. You won’t be able to use it anywhere until they release it, which can still be several weeks. You do also run the risk of losing it, as during the redemption period the registrar can sell it at private auction, in which case someone else will become the owner.
So, you’ll either need to wait and run the risk of losing the domain, or we can try to recover the domain for you, but the registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. I’ll need you to agree to that fee before I can get the process started.

So if I pay will you be able to get my domain back? How long would it take? And then I could use it on SquareSpace, right?

At this point we should still be able to get it back, yes. There is a time limit on this – redemption lasts a few weeks, and once it ends the domain cannot be restored any more. But currently it should work. If it doesn’t, the recovery fee is refunded in full.
From when we contact the registrar until when the domain is restored usually takes about two days, though over the weekend it might take longer. If we can still contact them today the domain should be back by Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Once it’s restored you can either map or completely transfer it to Squarespace.
I’ve gone ahead and sent you a link you can use to pay the recovery fee. I’ll be notified once we receive payment, and then I can contact the registrar immediately.

Thanks. I have emailed our registrar to try and get back the domain. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from them.

Your domain has been restored and is again active on your account.
If you still want to point it to Squarespace, you need to ask them for the CNAME and A records you’ll need to map it to them. Then you can add those records here:
