  I would like to build a new website on wordpress. I want to keep our existing site published thouhg while I build it though. How can I accomplish this.

  Hi there,

  What you can do is create a temporary site and make it private while you work on building it. That way the whole time you can keep the existing site live. Then, once you are done working on the new site, you can move the content from the temporary site over to existing site by following this support page:
