Domain Change

  I’m new to blogging and didn’t really understand how domains work. I tried to just manually change my domain name on wordpress but that doesn’t work because I am hosted by hostgator. Now it won’t let me log in to change it back. Help!

  Since your site is not hosted with WordPress.com (it is a site using the open-source WordPress software, from WordPress.org, but hosted with Hostgator), you’ll want to reach out to them directly about it or write on the community forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
