domain change
-
I was signing up for the free plan. I upgraded to the $4 a month plan. I did not realize that you billed for the year. I have been out of work since March due to Covid. My savings are all gone and the only income I have is unemployment as an independent contractor. In short, I’m broke. I could due the $4 a month of course, but I don’t have $48 to my name.
Therefore, I need to stick to the strictly free plan for now and change my domain name to exclude the .com
I can’t seem to find a way to do that. Can you help? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We do not currently offer our plans at a monthly rate, but you can cancel and refund your plan at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases when logged in under the account which purchased it (we have absolutely no history of purchases, transactions, or billing activity of any kind under the account you’re currently logged into).

Right, I never went through billing. I just wondered how to go back to choosing a name so I can pick one without the .com
I just want to get rid of that and start over. I can’t seem to find a way to do that. -
I’m not sure I fully understand. You are stuck on some kind of screen that will not let you proceed?
If you wish to set up a completely new site (that is not connected with your two existing sites) you can do that here: https://wordpress.com/start/
During the site creation process, choose the “free” wordpress.com address and you will have a free site. If you do not choose the free WordPress.com address, and try to specify a custom address instead, this will prompt you to upgrade as a custom address is not possible on free sites.
Hope this helps!
