domain changes

    i want to change the name/address of my domain. I purchased “party41.com” through wordpress and I want to change it because that title gets mistaken as a porn site by some firewalls. Can I change my domain name/address without knowing how to code and leave the rest of the blog as is? Or do I need to buy a new domain and transfer everything over?

    Hi there!

    Changing your domain may not stop these alerts. Since WordPress.com is a shared hosting platform, some web filtering/firewall services – like Websense – will add a range of IPs to their blacklist (rather than individual sites) which can make sites like yours seem to be mistakenly marked as spam or inappropriate just because you are in that IP range.

    If you know the companies that block your site, you can send them a request to add your domain to their whitelist so it doesn’t get flagged in the future. I’ve submitted requests to services like that before and they’re very responsive to review and remove sites from their blacklist.
