  I am considering purchasing my own domain. If I were to decide, say, 2 years from now I did not want to keep paying for it, is it possible to revert back to myblogname.wordpress.com for free, with everything still intact?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  That being said I wouldn’t ever do that because it will create broken links in the search engines. If you aren’t into renewing the domain mapping upgrade every year then do not purchase a custom domain.
