Domain connection renewal

    I received the following message in an email from WordPress.com (I’ve masked the domain name as I can’t seem to be able to contact a private support channel):

    “Domain Connection for domainname.com is about to expire. This upgrade adds the domain ‘domain name.com’ to your site.

    Domain Connection costs A$17.00, and it is set to expire in 29 days, on 26th Apr 2024. If this upgrade expires, your site will no longer be available at ‘domainname.com’.”

    Although my site is a WordPress site, as far as I know my service is not through WordPress.com so I don’t understand why I am receiving this email. Can you please confirm whether you are currently providing any active services for my site at this domain? By active I mean as in they are in use as opposed to just registered to an old account but not in active use.

    The domain connection you’re being notified about is part of a plan you previously had with us. Since your site is not currently hosted with us you can safely remove this domain connection from your account. To do so, simply visit your Purchases page at https://wordpress.com/me/purchases. There, you’ll find the option to manage and remove any active services that are no longer in use.
