Domain contact is tied to deleted email, can't change anything
-
Hello,
A friend is attempting to transfer ownership of a domain to me, however, all actions seem to require email verification for approval. The issue with this is that unfortunately, the email address listed for the domain was deleted some time ago, and per Gmail’s policy, cannot be recreated.
Is there any way to get out of this stuck situation of requiring approval via an email address that cannot, and will not exist again? Any other form of verification can be supplied, but there appears to be no other options.
Thanks

Hi there,
What is the domain?
We are only able to help the current owner of the domain with updating information and transferring the domain, so I’ll need that person to reply here or contact us directly themselves.
Also note that the regulations governing domain ownership and transfers changed on 1 December, so depending on the type of domain and when it was registered the process to get the email address updated might be a bit complicated. Shortly, there is no way to transfer ownership of the domain without confirmation via email, but our registrar might be able to update the email at the current owner’s request, provided they can prove their identity as the owner.
