Domain deletion doesn´t work?

Hi, decided to delete my domain because I opened a new site on altervista and wanted to use the same adress. However, even if I deleted it from my account here on wordpress, it still seems like alephas.org is registered despite being expired. When will it be available again?

Expired domains go through a series of steps before they are available for registration. They take at least 90 or more days from the day of expiration. Also, you need to make sure you register it before anyone else does. To avoid that, you might consider transferring your domain to your new service provider. For that, you need to have the domain active within your WordPress.com plan. You can then use the “Transfer Domain” service to move your domain outside WordPress.com safely.

If you decide to activate your domain and transfer it to your host, the WordPress staff can help you with getting your domain back and assist you further with it.

Hi there,
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, even if you cancel them on their expiration date, but it can be weeks or sometimes months before you’ll be able to register a cancelled domain somewhere else. You should only ever cancel a domain if you no longer want it at all.
Once you cancel a domain you no longer own it, so it’s also not possible to transfer it then.
I’ve emailed our registrar to restore your domain. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear from them.
As you don’t want to use the domain with us there is no reason for you to buy a plan – you still have about two weeks time after the domain expires during which you can transfer it away from us – so I have cancelled and refunded you Personal Plan.
Buying a plan has never been requirement for recovering a domain from redemption or for restoring a domain that was cancelled by mistake. Please don’t tell a user to do this again in this situation.

Your domain has been restored, but our registrar has now transfer locked it as part of the process. I’m trying to get them to remove the lock so you’ll be able to transfer it away, as otherwise you’ll need to renew it and will only be able to transfer it in 60 days from now.
