    Hi there,

Your domain is currently mapped to WordPress.com. However, it is still registered at Wix. In this case, Wix is your domain registrar. WordPress.com is your host. In order for your domain to work correctly, you’ll need to change the name servers on your domain, which must be done at your registrar. The name servers should be changed to the following:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

Can you perhaps try contacting Wix customer service one last time and asking for them to help you change the name servers?

Wix say they can’t change the name servers, so what’s the point of paying the mapping in wordpress if i’m not going to be able to change de name servers?

    Hi there,

Mapping your domain allows you to use your domain with WordPress.com. However, in order for the domain to work correctly, it has to know where to “look” so to speak. The name servers are a way of telling the domain where to look.

Did Wix provide any additional information as to why they could not change the name servers? Are you sure that your domain is currently registered through Wix.com? Please note, “registration” and “hosting” are two different things. Registration is where you purchased the domain. Currently, the host looks like Network Solutions:

    http://www.who.is/whois/martin-camacho.com

Do you remember purchasing your domain at networksolutions.com?

Nop, I’m sure I purschased in wix.com, they probably work with networksolutios, I didn’t know that, they just keep saying they can’t change the name servers in their page, their technical team is very bad, maybe i can change it directly in networksolutios, but i have no idea how.

    Hi!

It looks like it’s not possible to change your name servers on your domain purchased at Wix evident from the support thread here:

    http://www.wix.com/support/forum/flash/about-wix/about-wix/change-nameserver

If you scroll down to the reply from Anat, timestamped April 30, 2014, you’ll find the following:

You are correct, at the moment it is not possible to change your nameservers from Wix to another domain host. The only two options are either transferring your domain to the other host or connecting the domain via pointing.

So, we have two options moving forward.

If you would like, you can transfer your domain away from Wix to another registrar where you can edit the name servers. The Wix instructions for transferring your domain can be found here:

    http://www.wix.com/support/main/html5/domains/wix-domains#Transferring+Your+Wix+Domain+from+Wix+

Then, you can point your name servers to WordPress.com from the new registrar.

Alternatively, if you would like to point your domain to WordPress.com but leave it registered with Wix, you can use A records as described here:

    http://www.wix.com/support/main/html5/domains/managing-your-domain-records#weight-4

You should be able to follow the steps under “Updating an A Record” and “Adding an A Record”. You would want to set the following IP addresses under the A record portion:

    66.155.11.238
    192.0.81.250
    66.155.9.238
    192.0.80.250
    76.74.254.120
    76.74.254.123

Please be sure to include at least two of the IP addresses above.

Let me know which method you prefer, and I’ll be happy to help in any way possible!
