domain does not redirect to my wordpress.com?

  i recently purchased a domain from name.com and also payed at wordpress to change my domain from goodbyehappiness.wordpress.com to goodbyehappiness.com

  it was all fine before but this morning when i check my site, i cannot get to my site from goodbyehappiness.com nor from goodbyehappiness.wordpress.com, the page just fails to open up….

  any one who can help me?

  Hi. Is your site hosted by WordPress.COM?

  And what did you buy from WordPress.COM? The site redirect option or the domain mapping option?

  Hi!

  yes, it is a personal blog hosted by wordpress.com and yes I bought the domain mapping option, which is $12 i think.

  Your name-servers don’t seem to be pointing to WordPress.COM – that would be a setting where your name was registered.

  yes i did, and first i changed my name server to
  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  however, after i saved my changes, name.com said that i cannot change the name sever, it must be

  ns4.name.com.
  ns3.name.com.
  ns2.name.com.
  ns1.name.com.

  so i just changed- back to name.com

  For the domain mapping to work correctly the name-servers need to point to WordPress.COM.

  All I can recommend is you contact name.com and see why they insist the name-servers point to them – pointing to them only makes sense if they are the host.

  I have never tried the all name servers but I think it would be very bad at best –

  Needs to only be to WordPress.COM.

  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  i have contacted the name.com
  and i have changed the name server back to wordpress.com ones

  Hi. Just now I have bought directly from wordpress.com for domain as well as hosting for $17. the domain name is: manolifestyle.org. but when I typed it in the browser I am getting manolifestyle.worpress.com only! Not the manolifestyle.org.

  I got the mail with Purchase transaction ID. But I was not directed to anywhere…

  Please help me out. thanks.

  Patience grasshopper – it can take 24 to 72 hours for the changes to migrate across the internet world – your site redirects fine for me – you might have problems with local cache issues –

  PS – posting multiple threads does not improve the speed of an answer – it just confuses and irritate the unpaid volunteers that provide most of the help here.

  i am still waiting for a reply from name.com
  but i am wondering if i need to change the dns manager thing?
  and if i change it..the name server has to be name.com, not wordpress.com
  it was working the day i redirected my domain…sigh

  On the maping support page you say my registrer needs the IP adresses…which is my case.
  Then you say Ip adresses are subject to change and updating the name server is preferred…¿ where do i update the name server ?

  After I changed my name servers and the IP you provide such us 72.233.69.14 in order to ponit to wordpress the domain doesn’t work…..should i wait this 24 – 72 hours¿?…just my old wordpress domain works.

  @o2adventures: If your domain name is registered through WordPress.COM, follow the link here to update the nameservers:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  Otherwise, you’ll need to contact your current domain name registrar to find out how to change the nameservers. Use the IP addresses only if you are unable to change the nameservers…

  Once you enter that information, you can buy the domain mapping upgrade:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/

  I changed the names of the DNS, to put my blog on a separate domain, but when I press a button on the manual “Update primary domain”, then my site is not displayed. Why? Or it does not happen instantly? Domain – the-avantos.ru.
