  Why? Because it is one of the many domain suffixes available to purchase here at WordPress.com.

  PS: Do you mean something different? If you already own a co.uk domain somewhere else then it can’t currently be transferred to WordPress.com. You could keep it registered where it is and map it to a WordPress.com site though by purchasing a Personal plan or higher.
