domain expiration

  I signed up for WordPress a few months ago, and I tried the premium, so I have paid for a domain (but not yet published), and I registered the domain only this morning. The “thank-you” page at the end says that my new domain expires on August 18, 2015. I suppose that is when my annual WordPress PREMIUM expires, but that the domain remains mine until December 11, 2015, if, for example, I wanted to host my site elsewhere. Is that correct? Do I lose that credit if I renew the Premium next year?
